Counseling Style

Sara is a warm and curious clinician who believes that growth happens most effectively in a safe and supportive environment. She believes that an effective therapeutic relationship is built on trust that develops with empathy and honest feedback.  Sara believes that we all deserve the life that we truly want, and that painful experiences can leave us feeling stuck.

Experience

Sara has been a mental health practitioner for over 25 years. She has worked in a variety of settings, as both a clinician and leader, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient hospitals. She has also worked in a variety of community-based settings. Sara has supervised numerous clinicians and interns over the years and enjoys teaching and facilitating groups.

Sara is also a trauma-sensitive yoga teacher, mindful self-compassion educator and fitness instructor.  She believes strongly in the connection between the mind and the body and the importance of caring for both physical and mental health.
