Melinda is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She understands that reaching out for help and finding a therapist can be challenging. Her wish is to make your experience with finding a therapist less stressful, so that your transition into therapy is positive. She uses a goal oriented and solution-focused counseling approach. Melinda assures a professional, safe, and welcoming environment. Her clients often describe her as kind, supportive, compassionate, and funny. Her supportive style shows an in-depth understanding of the human condition and mental health issues. Melinda holds a deep respect for individual differences and human dignity. She will listen to what your goals are and help you to reach them.

Experience

Melinda has been in the field for 30+ years wearing different hats. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from University of Connecticut and is licensed in the state of Massachusetts. Melinda has worked in various settings as a social worker, counselor, and therapist. Providing both individual and group psychotherapy for diverse cultures, ages 6 to 96 years old. Melinda has specialized in treating dually diagnosed clients and trauma survivors. She also embraces diversity. Melinda has spent many years as a human rights advocate and works closely with the LGBTQ community.
