Marie is a mental health counselor and art therapist who brings a warm, compassionate, and collaborative presence to her work. Her approach is relational, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, grounded in deep curiosity and respect for each client’s unique history, worldview, and intersecting identities. She recognizes the vulnerability and courage it takes to engage in therapy and strives to create a safe, supportive space where emotional exploration, self-understanding, and hope can grow.
Experience
Marie is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Art Therapist with a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from New York University. She trained in psychoanalytic psychotherapy while working as a clinician and art therapist in New York City before moving to Ma in 2003.
Over the past 25 years, Marie has worked with individuals across the lifespan in a range of clinical settings. Her experience includes both direct care and administrative leadership, developing programs and services for older adults in the Western Massachusetts community.
Her clinical work includes supporting clients navigating emotional dysregulation, patterns of coping that may have once been protective but now interfere with work, relationships, and overall well-being, negative core beliefs, complex trauma, identity exploration, neurodivergence, and major life transitions.
Marie integrates a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to each client’s needs and goals. These may include attachment-focused work, parts work, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), journaling, art therapy, mindfulness practices, somatic awareness, dream exploration, inner child work, and narrative and bibliotherapy approaches.
