Kevin is an experienced counselor who has worked in both community mental health and private practice settings. Kevin takes a person-centered and empathic approach in therapy. Kevin aims to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental and comfortable environment with the goal of establishing a strong therapeutic alliance. Kevin takes pride in being a good listener and developing an understanding of the issues and struggles one brings into therapy. A goal in therapy is for the client to gain insight into their struggles and identify steps towards making positive change.
Experience
Kevin is a licensed mental health counselor who has worked in the field for approximately 11 years. Kevin earned his master’s degree in mental health counseling at UMass Boston and completed clinical training at McLean Hospital’s Sage program and Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children (formerly Massachusetts Hospital School). He has experience working with adults and children of various mental health conditions including anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, insomnia, grief and stress related disorders.
Kevin utilizes different therapeutic approaches including CBT, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, ERP, CBT-I for insomnia and ACT.
