As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Carol Dupre identifies her role as a therapist as being a guide in the client’s personal journey in seeking growth and/or healing in their life. She respects that the individual is the expert and seeks to collaborate by observance and response. She finds being open, kind, and having a sense of humor assists in developing an environment of therapeutic trust.
Experience
Carol is a graduate of Westfield State University. Her clinical experience has included working for a community clinic doing In Home Therapy and Outpatient therapy. She enjoys working with clients of all ages. She is trauma-informed and many experiences including advocacy/support of foster youth, in a teen parenting programming and providing hospice support. She has previously advocated for those who experienced food insecurity and currently contributes to community human rights projects.
While Cognitive-Behavioral therapy is often used as a baseline in goal setting, other interventions including DBT-related, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and even some Expressive Arts are examples of what may be included, depending on the client’s interests and experiences.
