Counseling Style

Ashleigh provides a warm, compassionate space to talk. She believes that seeking counseling shows great courage and is one of the kindest things we can do for ourselves. We all go through times when we need help to make sense of our experiences or need support to move through places we feel stuck or weighed down. Ashleigh wants to hear your story and help you reach your goals. She is sensitive to the role beliefs and spirituality play in our lives and is open to incorporating faith values into sessions if that is important to you.

Experience

Ashleigh received her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina Charlotte in 2010. She has years of experience working with youth, young adults, and adults in a variety of settings including schools, faith-based organizations, and residential settings.

Ashleigh brings her experiences, wisdom, and intuition to each session and uses a variety of therapeutic techniques from Person-Centered, CBT, Mindfulness/Meditation, Psychodynamic, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing. She loves to read and learn and especially appreciates the work of Brene Brown on shame and resilience and learning about the mind/body connection – all of which inform her practice.
