Andrea is licensed as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor, has a Master’s Degree in Social Work, and is a Doctoral Candidate in the Social Work Program at Simmons University. In addition, Andrea is certified in trauma and can help adult clients to work on their internalized emotions, mental health disorders, and keeping their sobriety in substance use, and alcohol addiction. She utilizes different approaches and modalities in Motivational Interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Psychotherapy, and Gestalt Therapy. Also, Andrea helps adult individuals to work on coping techniques that will help them to stay on a positive path in life.
Experience
Andrea obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Westfield State University. Presently, she is a Doctoral Candidate in the Social Work Program at Simmons University. She has twenty years of experience working with diverse populations of children, adults, and families. Andrea has worked as a counselor in a residential setting, a parent aide working with children and families that were involved in the Department of Children and Families, In-Home Therapy, and Individual Therapy working with children, adults, and families on mental health disorders, substance use, and alcohol addictions.
