Counseling Style

Katie is a Licensed Mental Health Clinician who is licensed in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Her overall approach is one that combines trust, respect, empathy and oftentimes humor so that each client can feel as comfortable as possible. She prides herself on her rapport building and easygoing yet structured nature and making sure she meets each client where they are at. When working with an individual, Katie utilizes aspects from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy to help each person best meet their needs and goals.

Experience

Katie received her Master’s in 2013 and Certificate of Graduate Studies (CGS) in 2016 from Rhode Island College. She has a wide range of experience working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings, including residential, community based, partial hospitalization, and outpatient in a private practice setting. Katie is also in the process completing a lengthy training program to become a Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC).

When she is not working Katie enjoys playing the oboe in the Great Woods Symphony Orchestra and spending time with her boyfriend, her “bonus kids,” and very spoiled house rabbit, Radar.
