Deena believes in creating a trusting relationship with children so that they view therapy as a safe place to share their feelings and experiences. Through the use of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, and Social Thinking, Deena believes that children can recognize their strengths, learn coping strategies, and be able to thrive at home and in school. Deena will also work closely with parents, through collaboration and consultation, in order to ensure the best possible outcome for their children.
Experience
Deena has a Doctorate in Child-Clinical/School Psychology. She has worked with children of all ages for her entire professional career. Deena has worked in early intervention, in clinical settings, and most recently, in a public elementary school.
Psychological Evaluations
In addition to counseling children of all ages, Deena also is accomplished in the area of psychological evaluations. Deena has extensive experience completing psycho-educational evaluation with children ages 3-18. Using a variety of assessment tools, Deena can help determine a child’s areas of strength and weakness. The evaluation can reveal if a child’s struggles are a result of a Specific Learning Disability, ADHD, executive functioning difficulties, Depression, Anxiety or a combination of multiple factors.
